We share our trust vision of promoting high aspirations and achieving excellent outcomes for all children; our schools are inclusive and exist to serve the children who live in the locality. We believe that the school learning environment should deliver a vibrant, creative and relevant education for all pupils; fostering a love of learning is central to what we do.

The School and the Surrounding Area

Solent Junior School is a warm and caring school community where every child is valued as an individual. We provide a curriculum that will inspire, motivate and engage our children and foster an understanding and love of learning. We aim to equip our learners with the skills necessary to succeed in life in the 21st century.

We encourage our children to take part in the wide variety of enriching opportunities that Solent offers: clubs, music, performance, residential trips and, of course, Rock Challenge! The strength of partnership between home and school enables our children to become confident, successful and responsible young people with high standards of academic achievement.

We hope that you enjoy exploring our website and that you are able to gain an insight into our school, our values and ethos.

The school is situated within the north eastern boundary of the City of Portsmouth. Parents often refer to Drayton as a village because of the strength of the local community that they find here. Solent was first established in 1925 and enjoys a good reputation within the area.

Solent is a three form entry junior school with 12 classes and 360 children on roll. We have strong links with Solent Infant School which is situated close by.
